Navigation to Personas Overview

To begin, click on Aurora in the left-hand menu, then select Personas. You will be directed to the Personas Overview page.

Creating a New Persona

Each persona is displayed as a card within the Personas Overview. To create a new persona, click on New. This will initiate the persona recommender, which uses your input to suggest suitable audience cohorts and their corresponding weights that best align with the described persona.

Using the Persona Recommender

The persona recommender is designed to collect detailed user input to accurately define a persona and identify matching audience cohorts.

Step 1: Define the Persona

  • Naming Your Persona: Start by giving your persona a descriptive name that reflects their characteristics, such as "Ava, the Gourmet Cook" or "Peter, the Tech-Savvy Shopper."

  • Describing Your Persona: Provide a comprehensive description of the persona. A detailed account enhances the accuracy of the persona's profile. Ensure the description is at least 150 characters long, though more extensive descriptions are preferable for a richer and more precise depiction.

Tip: To maintain balance in the persona's attributes, include various aspects of their life and preferences.

To achieve the best results with Rayn Personas, it's crucial to provide a detailed and accurate description of the buyer personas you're targeting. This ensures a precise and relevant audience segmentation.

Step 2: Add Further Details

Continue to enrich the persona's profile by providing additional details. All information entered here will refine the persona's formulation.

Step 3: Review and Create

This step presents a summary of your inputs for final review. Take a moment to ensure all details are correct. Once ready, click Create. The process to generate the persona may take up to two minutes.

Manage and Edit Personas

After a persona is generated, it becomes accessible from the Persona Overview screen. Here, you can rename or delete personas as needed.

  • Persona Avatar: Rayn generates a suitable image for each persona based on the provided inputs. If the image does not meet your expectations, you can click "Regenerate" to prompt Rayn to create a new image.

  • Persona Description: This section summarizes the key attributes of the persona.

  • Audience Cohort Recommendations: Adjacent to the persona description, you will find a list of audience cohorts identified through our recommendation process. These cohorts are relevant to the persona, and their weights indicate their significance.

  • Accuracy Control: The top-level accuracy control allows you to fine-tune the overall precision of the cohort matches. Adjusting the accuracy can significantly impact the match potential.

  • Add/Remove Audience Categories: Modify the persona's definition by adding or removing categories. Click on "Add categories" to adjust the audience cohorts as needed. Remember to set the weights for newly added cohorts.

  • Activating a Persona: Once you have finished editing a persona and are ready to use it for campaign targeting, set a start and end date for Rayn to begin evaluating the persona. After the end date, the persona will no longer be active in processing but can be reactivated at any time without data loss.

Demographics

By default, persona recommendations do not include demographic data. For options to incorporate demographic details, please contact Rayn Support.

How to find Persona ID

Each Persona's ID can be found by clicking Open on the specific Persona in the Personas Overview section. The Persona ID is on the right of the name of the persona. Copy the Persona ID and share it for import.

Nexus

Since Rayn places a strong emphasis on privacy, data is generally scoped to the domain of a publisher; therefore, personas are not global. Instead, they are evaluated at the publisher level. In the Persona Nexus settings, you can choose the Air Publishers with whom you wish to collaborate. Nexus helps facilitate the connection between demand and supply.

With Nexus, you can create scale by sharing your personas across a large number of publishers, allowing for impactful data activation.

Add Air Publishers to the Persona

Increase the scale of your persona activation by adding more Air Publishers. Navigate to the Nexus tab in your persona and click "Add." In the drawer, you can choose the Air Publishers you wish to collaborate with.

Persona Settings

Transparency controls

Only few people know the recipe for Coca Cola, with transparency controls you can choose to expose or hide the recipe for your persona. When collaborating with Air Publishers, they will be able to see the persona name and description. By default the persona recipe is not visible for Air Publishers. If transparency is enabled then all of the collaborating Air Publishers will be able to view the persona recipe.

Delete persona

A Persona can be deleted. Once the persona is deleted it will also be removed from the collaborating Air Publishers.

Activate the Persona

When you are happy with the persona recipe it's time to activate. Click the "Save & Activate" button. The activation wizard will double check the activation settings:

  • Start/ end date

  • Select Nexus Air Publishers

  • Instructions for applicable SSP's and Data activation partners

    • Each selected publisher's preferred SSP and seat id.

Check out the activation guides for more information on how to set up PMP's targeted at your persona.
